("Unveil," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Unveil website at withunveil.com, any Unveil mobile applications, and related services (the "Platform"). 2. How We Use Information
- Operate the Platform, including matching Couples with Vendors, processing Bookings, and facilitating payments through Stripe Connect.
- Verify Vendor identity, pricing, licensing, and insurance as described in our Vendor Listing Standards.
- Communicate with you about your account, a Booking, or customer support.
- Improve and secure the Platform, including analytics, fraud prevention, and troubleshooting.
- Send you service updates and, where you have opted in, marketing communications, which you may opt out of at any time.
- Comply with legal obligations, including tax reporting (such as Form 1099-K) for Vendor payouts.
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our agreements, including through identity-verification and fraud-screening tools offered by our Payment Processor and others.
- Create aggregated or de-identified data that no longer identifies you, which we may use and share for any lawful purpose.
3. How We Share Information
Unveil does not sell your personal information for money. If we use advertising or analytics tools that are treated as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under applicable law, we will disclose that in this Policy and give you a way to opt out, including by honoring Global Privacy Control signals. We share information as follows:
- With the Vendor or Couple in an inquiry, availability request, or Booking, to the extent necessary to facilitate it (e.g., a Couple's contact and event details are shared with the Vendor they contact or book).
- With service providers who perform functions on our behalf, including Stripe (payment processing and Vendor identity verification), Supabase (database hosting), Vercel (application hosting), and Resend (email delivery), as well as other providers of analytics, customer support, and communications services. These providers are authorized to use your information only to provide services to Unveil.
- With service providers that power any features we offer that use artificial intelligence or other automated tools, limited to the information needed to provide those features (such as your search terms and event preferences). We do not allow those providers to use your personal information to train their own models for their own purposes.
- For legal reasons, where required to comply with law, respond to legal process, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our agreements, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Unveil, our users, or the public.
- In a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections.
- With your consent for any other purpose we disclose at the time of collection.
We do not share your mobile phone number or text-messaging consent with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember preferences, and understand how the Platform is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect Platform functionality. Where the law of the place you live requires it, we will ask for your consent before placing cookies that are not strictly necessary, and you can change your choices at any time through our cookie settings. We honor opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, where required by law.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and for two (2) years after account closure, or as needed to comply with legal obligations (such as tax recordkeeping for Vendor payouts), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We may keep records longer where needed to prevent fraud, enforce our agreements, or defend legal claims.
6. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, which may include the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you and how it has been used and shared;
- Access or request a copy of your personal information;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions (such as information we must retain for tax or legal purposes);
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (see Section 3 for how Unveil handles this); and
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
California residents may exercise these rights under the CCPA/CPRA by contacting us at privacy@withunveil.com. We will verify your request before responding. We aim to respond to verified requests within 45 days (extended once by up to 45 days where the law permits). You may use an authorized agent to submit a request. If we deny a request, you may appeal by emailing us at the address below.
7. Children's Privacy
The Platform is not directed to, and Unveil does not knowingly collect personal information from, individuals under 18 years old. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it.
8. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We will notify you of a security breach affecting your personal information where required by law.
9. Third-Party Links
The Platform may contain links to third-party websites (such as a Vendor's own website). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and encourage you to review their privacy policies.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on the Platform and update the effective date above; for material changes, we will provide additional notice as appropriate. By continuing to use the Platform after an update takes effect, you accept the updated policy.
